Scottie's winning WITB | The Masters 2024
On the front 9, in the 4th and final round of the 2024 Masters, Scottie Scheffler did a great job of convincing viewers that this tournament was wide open. But as the pressure intensified his competitors shrank, and Scottie grew, and we all thought to ourselves
“was it ever going to be anyone else?”
The answer? A firm No
The number 1 ranked male golfer is head and shoulders above his competition statistically, technically and psychologically. It’s fun watching greatness unfold and it’s fun looking at the equipment he trusts to get it done….

Quick-fire-5: Scottie’s bag
Scottie, like Rory, games the Qi10 “core'“ or “standard” driver as opposed the Qi10 LS (low-spin) model. But the head the pros use isn’t what we can pick-up off the rack, it’s the Tour Issue ‘dot’ version that has greater forward weighting, for lower-spin, compared to the mass market offering
Perhaps now the most prominent poster-boy for Taylormade, Scottie’s bag is far from TM exclusive. He games two Srixon ZU85 utility irons and 3 Vokey Design Wedges. I’d be surprised if he moves away from a winning formula…
The P7TW irons that Scottie games were designed by his idol, a certain Mr Eldrick Woods. Not renowned for tinkering with his setup, will Scottie ever be tempted to create his own custom TM irons like Tiger, Rory and DJ?
Scottie isn’t afraid to stick with older generation clubs; his trusty Srixon ZU85s were released 6 years ago in 2018 and his two Vokey SM8 wedges were released in 2020
Scottie was Number 1 in Strokes Gained Around the Green this week, and we can all learn a thing or two from his wedge bounces. Both his 50° and 56° are high-bounce, especially the latter at a whopping 14°! His 60° is his low-bounce option but the moral of the story is; bounce is your friend, friends!
This week on Tour we are looking forward to the first Major of the women’s 2024 season, plus the usual post-Master’s visit to the RBC:
The Chevron Championship, LPGA
RBC Heritage, PGA Tour
As always, have a great week, any suggestions please get in touch on socials.
Peace X
