Scottie Scheffler WITB (13th March, 2025) - What's In The Bag? The Player's Championship @ TPC Sawgrass

Who is Scottie Scheffler?

Scottie Scheffler is the human embodiment of a quiet assassin. He doesn’t talk trash, he doesn’t boast—he just methodically dismantles the competition with the cold efficiency of a seasoned contract killer (but, you know, in a nice Christian-boy-from-Texas kind of way). Born in 1996, the former junior golf phenom turned Texas Longhorn standout has quickly risen to the top of professional golf, stacking up wins like they’re Pokémon cards.

Despite his unassuming nature, don’t let the easy-going demeanor fool you. Beneath that calm, slightly awkward surface is a competitor with the killer instinct of a lion hunting in the Serengeti. His swing? A little unorthodox, but absurdly effective. His footwork? Some would say it looks like he’s being chased by invisible ghosts, but it somehow generates nuclear-level ball-striking power. He’s the guy that makes textbook players question why they even bother with fundamentals.

Since his breakout 2022 season, which included his coronation at Augusta National, Scheffler has been a consistent force on Tour. He’s world No. 1 for a reason—he doesn’t win pretty, he wins relentlessly. It doesn’t matter how tricky the conditions are or how elite the field is—Scheffler just finds a way to get it done, all while looking like he just woke up from a wholesome Sunday afternoon nap.

With multiple victories, a FedEx Cup title in his sights, and a game built to thrive under pressure, Scottie has entered the territory of the truly elite. And given his ice-in-the-veins mentality, we should probably just start calling him "The Machine."

Scottie Scheffler’s Golf Bag & Equipment

Scheffler’s driver is a rocket launcher disguised as a golf club. With the Qi10 head and Ventus Black 7X shaft, he generates insane speed and precision, making him one of the most consistent drivers on Tour. When he tees it up, fairways beware.

His 3-wood is a weapon of mass destruction. Whether he’s launching it into a par-5 green or hammering it down a tight fairway, this setup gives him versatility and power, making life miserable for the competition.

The 7-wood isn’t just for senior golfers—Scheffler uses his to attack flags like a sniper. High-launching, soft-landing, and deadly accurate, it’s the club that makes him a greens-in-regulation machine.

For those tricky in-between distances, Scheffler relies on the Srixon ZU85 utility iron. It gives him a perfect blend of power and control, ensuring his long approach shots stay on target.

Forged for a true shotmaker, the P7TW irons are designed for precision. Scheffler shapes shots like an artist, and his X100 shafts ensure he gets the perfect combination of feel and control every time.

His wedge game is where he truly shines. Whether it's a tight spinner, a high flop, or a clutch bunker shot, Scheffler’s Vokeys give him all the tools he needs to dominate around the greens.

The flat stick that seals the deal. The Spider Tour X putter gives him stability and consistency under pressure, allowing him to drain clutch putts when they matter most.

The gold standard of golf balls, the Pro V1 gives Scheffler the perfect combination of distance, control, and feel. It’s the final piece of his championship-winning puzzle.

Because when you’re holding onto greatness, you want the best grip possible.

Scottie Scheffler’s Biography & Players Championship Performances

If winning golf tournaments were a video game, Scottie would be on "Nightmare Mode." Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Scheffler dominated junior golf before heading to the University of Texas, where he continued to ruin people’s weekends by taking their lunch money in college tournaments. He turned pro in 2019, and by 2022, he was already a Masters champion, world No. 1, and generally making life miserable for his competitors.

One of the most impressive aspects of Scheffler’s career is his insane consistency. He doesn’t just show up for the big events—he contends in all of them. The Players Championship is no exception. With its narrow fairways, brutal water hazards, and more mind games than a psychological thriller, TPC Sawgrass has humbled many legends. But not Scottie.

In 2023, Scheffler obliterated the field at The Players, winning by a casual five shots and making the rest of the leaderboard look like a bunch of weekend hackers. His precision iron play and ability to thrive under pressure made him untouchable.

As we head into the 2024 Players Championship, all eyes are on Scheffler for a potential three-peat. Given his iron game, short-game wizardry, and the fact that he simply refuses to be intimidated, it wouldn’t be surprising if he once again turns Sawgrass into his personal playground. The man isn’t flashy, but he’s an absolute golf cyborg when it comes to getting the job done.

So, while everyone else is out there worrying about water on 17, Scheffler is probably thinking about what he’s having for dinner while routinely sticking his tee shot to two feet. That’s just what he does.
