Who is Min Woo Lee?
Min Woo Lee is not just a golfer—he’s an absolute vibe. The Aussie sensation has become one of the most electric personalities in professional golf, blending elite ball-striking with a social media presence that has turned him into a full-blown cult hero. Whether he’s striping drives, showcasing his elite short game, or dropping legendary one-liners on Twitter, Min Woo has built a legion of fans who live by one simple rule: "Let him cook."
Born in Perth, Australia, in 1998, Min Woo was pretty much destined for golfing greatness. His sister, Minjee Lee, is a major champion and one of the most dominant players on the LPGA Tour. Clearly, the golf genes in the Lee household were stronger than a double espresso before a final round. But while Minjee is all business, Min Woo brings a different energy—swagger, flair, and an unmatched ability to make golf look way cooler than it has any right to be.
Min Woo burst onto the scene in 2016 by winning the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, becoming the first Australian to do so. He turned pro in 2019 and wasted no time making an impact. By 2021, he had already secured a European Tour (now DP World Tour) victory at the Scottish Open, proving that he wasn’t just about trick shots and viral tweets—he could win at the highest level, too.
His game is built on an explosive combination of raw power and ridiculous touch around the greens. While some players panic when faced with a tricky short game shot, Min Woo transforms into his alter ego: Dr. Chipinski. That’s right—the man has given his wedge game a full-on medical degree, and when he gets going, he can get up and down from just about anywhere.
With his charisma, elite skill, and fan-friendly antics, Min Woo Lee is quickly becoming one of golf’s biggest fan favorites. Whether it’s his cheeky social media presence, monster tee shots, or must-watch short game, one thing is for sure: the man knows how to cook.

Min Woo Lee’s Biography & Players Championship Performances
Min Woo Lee might not have won The Players (yet), but he’s already put on some unforgettable performances at TPC Sawgrass. In 2023, he turned heads with an early charge up the leaderboard, proving that he’s more than capable of handling one of golf’s biggest stages.
Since then, he’s only gotten better. He kicked off 2024 with a win at the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship, proving that his game is rounding into elite form. With a fanbase that grows every time he steps on the course, the “Let Him Cook” movement is reaching full-blown fever pitch.
But Min Woo’s rise isn’t just about skill—it’s about personality. He’s a walking highlight reel, a social media king, and a player who actually looks like he’s having fun out there. In an era where golf can sometimes feel a bit too buttoned-up, Min Woo is the shot of espresso the game needs.
With his confidence soaring and his game as sharp as ever, could this be the year he lifts The Players Championship trophy? If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that when Min Woo Lee is in contention, the golf world tunes in. And when he steps onto the course, one phrase always rings true: Let him cook.
