Cam Smith WITB 2025 (13th April, 2025) - What's In The Bag? The Masters 2025 @ Augusta National
Not your typical bomber, but Cam’s setup is all about control and shaping it off the tee. The GT3 is compact and lethal, paired with a smooth-but-stable Ventus shaft.
Cam Smith: Mullet Magic Meets Magnolia Lane
If there’s one man on Earth who could walk into Augusta National with a mullet, a moustache, and a swagger that screams “beer league legend” while still having a legitimate shot at a green jacket — it’s Cameron Smith.
The Aussie enigma has been a cult hero in the golf world for years. Equal parts finesse and fearlessness, Cam brings an old-school feel to a modern power game. He first caught the Masters spotlight in 2020, where he became the first player in history to shoot four rounds in the 60s at Augusta... and still not win. Thanks, Dustin.
But that was just the start. Cam was back in 2022, finishing T3 with the kind of steely putting that would make Ben Crenshaw blush. And sure, he looks like he should be working in a surf shop, but the man rolls the rock like a demon possessed. That broomstick Scotty Cameron 009M? It’s less a putter and more an Excalibur.
What makes Smith so dangerous at Augusta is his short game. When things get spicy around the greens, most guys flinch. Cam? He just hits a low spinner, twirls the wedge, and walks off like it’s no big deal. Plus, the Augusta greens reward imagination, and Smith’s brain is basically an episode of Looney Tunes when it comes to creativity.
While his LIV Golf schedule means we see less of him on traditional leaderboards, don't mistake that for rust. Smith still grinds like a man trying to win a meat raffle back home in Brisbane. If the putter heats up, he’s a genuine threat to make Sunday very uncomfortable for the golf establishment.
Cam Smith WITB 2024 – A Blend of Chaos and Craftsmanship
Driver: Titleist GT3 10°, Fujikura Ventus TR Blue 6X shaft
Not your typical bomber, but Cam’s setup is all about control and shaping it off the tee. The GT3 is compact and lethal, paired with a smooth-but-stable Ventus shaft.
3 Wood: Ping G430 Max 15°, Fujikura Ventus TR Red 7X shaft
Yes, it’s a Frankenstein bag. Ping head, Titleist staffer. Cam’s loyalty is to the shot, not the badge. This 3-wood is his go-to fairway finder.
7 Wood: Titleist TS2 21°, UST Mamiya Elements Proto 8F5 shaft
The people’s wood. High launch, soft landing, good vibes. Perfect for Augusta’s long par 5s and sketchy lies.
Irons: Titleist T150 (4), Titleist T100 (6-9), KBS Tour 130 X Custom Series shafts
The iron mix is weird and wonderful — just like Cam. The blend gives him precision in the short irons and a little more juice up top. These shafts are heavy, stable, and absolutely not for the faint of wrist.
Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM9 46° (10F), 52° (08F), 56° (08M), 60° (04T), KBS Tour 130X shafts
Cam’s wedge game is spiritual. He could flop a ball onto a postage stamp with his eyes closed. The 60° T grind is practically illegal in 12 states.
Putter: Scotty Cameron 009M
This flatstick is vintage, vicious, and has probably made more 20-footers than most pros dream about. It’s Cam’s Excalibur, and he wields it with both flair and fury.
Ball: Titleist Pro V1x
High spin, high feel, high danger. Cam doesn’t mess around with the rock.
Grips: Golf Pride Tour Velvet Tack grips
Tacky, grippy, just like his haircut. Perfect.
Cam Smith at the 2024 Masters – Mullet Mode: Activated
Every Masters needs a wildcard, and Cam Smith is that guy. But don’t let the laid-back Aussie vibe fool you — he wants that second major bad. He’s got the skill set tailor-made for Augusta: elite iron control, a divine short game, and the kind of putting that makes demons weep.
He’s also got Augusta experience, and plenty of it. With finishes like T2 in 2020 and T3 in 2022, Cam’s no stranger to Sunday pressure. The one thing that’s been missing? Closing the deal. This year could change that.
Form-wise, he's sneaky sharp. LIV Golf doesn’t offer traditional stat-tracking, but from the eye test, Cam’s game looks honed. His tempo’s still pure, his putting stroke still buttery, and the mullet’s still flowing. Augusta rewards touch and imagination, and Smith brings both in spades.
The only thing standing between him and a green jacket might be Augusta's increasingly tricky conditions. But if the wind picks up and scoring gets dicey, Smith thrives in chaos. It brings out his inner magician.
So don’t be shocked if Cam walks up the 18th on Sunday, twirling that Scotty, hair in the breeze, maybe chewing gum like he’s closing at the pub. He’s got the goods — and if the putter gets hot, it might just be mullet time at Magnolia Lane.
